AP5131 Quick Guide.

Connecting A Wireless 5131 to the Network

1.Connect the Power Injector to an AC outlet (110VAC to 220VAC).

2. Connect an RJ-45 Ethernet cable between the network data supply (host) and the Power
Injector Data In connector.

3. Connect an RJ-45 Ethernet cable between the Power Injector Data & Power Out connector
and the Symbol AP-5131 LAN port.

4. Using the a db9 null modem cable connect it from the ws5131 to a PC using:
VT100
Baud Rate: 19200
Data Bits: 8
No Parity
Stop Bits: 1
No flow control
No Hardware

5. LED indicators
Boot and Power status	Solid White indicates AP5131 is adequately powered.
Error Conditions	Solid Red indicates AP5131 is experiencing a problem
Ethernet Activity	Flashing White indicates data transfers and Ethernet Activity
802.11a Radio Activity	Flickering amber indicates beacons and data transfers over A radio

6. Connect the Serial cable and use the PC settings noted in step 4. 
	A. Type CLI and press enter
	B. Type in User name (Default is admin)
	C. Type in Password (Default is symbol)
	D. The terminal should supply the system information

7. Type summary
	A. Lan 1 will have an IP of 0.0.0.0
	B. Lan 2 will have an IP of 192.168.1.1
	C. Wan 1 will have an IP of 10.10.0.1

8. Set IP address for Lan1: 
	A. Type .. to go back a directory
	B. Type network press enter
	C.Type lan press enter
	D.Type set ip_mode 1 static press enter?
	E.Type set ipadr 1 x.x.x.x press enter (the IP you want to set it for)

9. Set Mask for Lan1:
	A. Follow from steps noted in step 8 but instead of ipadr type mask 
	B. Type set mask 1 x.x.x.x  

10. Set Gateway
	A. Follow steps noted in step 8 but instead of ipadr type dgw
	B. Type set dgw 1 x.x.x.x

11. Set dns
	A. Follow steps noted in step 8 but instead of ipadr type dns
	B. Type set dns 1.1 x.x.x.x

**To Connect to GUI interface users musth have Java installed on PC www.java.com**

12. Connect to GUI(internet interface)
	A. open up interent and type in IP of Lan1 http://x.x.x.x
	B. Type in User name admin (default)
	C. Type Password symbol (default)
	
13. Setup AP throught GUI interface
	A. Connect to AP through GUI noted in step 12
	B. Go to Quick Setup
	C. Left hand side type IP address,Mask,Gateway,DNS
	D. Right hand Side Type ESSID and Name of AP
	E. click Create security Policy(set your Authentication and Encryption of AP
	G. Click APPLY setting will then be saved to Access Point

14. Mobile Unit Access Control List (set devices MAC address you want to allow to connectection to AP)
	A. Go to Network Configuration
	B. Go to Wireless
	C. Go to MU ACL
	D. Click Create
	E. Type in MAC addres(s) of unit from ranges of devices you want connected
		*if you only want one unit type MAC address in START and in END
	G. Go back into quick setup and click APPLY

Statistacs show Lan Stats, Mobile Unit Stats, AP's online
