ActiveSync
ActiveSync is the Windows program that will allow the user to talk to a Motorola mobile computer running Pocket PC, WM 2005, or Win CE, or CE.NET. You can get the most current copy from Microsoft website and in the search type ActiveSync and follow the instructions on how to download the latest version of ActiveSync. If you install ActiveSync, it will show up in your task manager as WCESCOOM. If you need to use another program that needs to use the serial port, you will need to terminate the ActiveSync process. Wavelink Emulation Software
Wavelink Emulation Software or simply known as Telnet, is a solution for accessing and managing
connections to applications resident on host systems using 5250, 3270, VT, and HP emulation.
On a Windows CE device, the Telnet emulation client is already pre-licensed on the mobile device.
When running an operating system other then Win CE it is necessary to purchase the latest software
version recommended for that device and operating system. To purchase Wavelink Emualation Software

If your Telnet application uses a standard 16X20 screen size, the Wavelink Telnet Emulation Parameters to set

Saving Mobile Device Wireless Settings To Prevent Loss Upon A COLD BOOT
With the latest Windows Mobile operating system WM 5.0, it is possible to save the wireless settings in an event when a cold boot is performed on the device. If you are working a previous OS such as PPC2003, you will have to modify the registry settings by using several Microsoft and Motorola tools to modify the registry files on a mobile computer. Please refer to the ScanTexas Wireless guide and look under "Options/Export"
Reset / Cold Boot a Windows Mobile 5.0 or 6.1 mobile device
A Motorola mobile device running WM 5.0, 6.0 and higher must use the Clean Boot files in order to perform an actuall "cold boot" on a Motorola Windows Mobile based device. Use the Clean Boot Blank files in order to reset a Motorola Windows Mobile device back to factory defaults.

AppCenter is Motorola utility that allows the administrator the option to lock out mobile unit users from run certain applications or programs such as Solitaire, e-mail, internet explorer, ect. Datawedge
Datawedge is the software program that runs on Motorola mobile computers to take barcode scanned data and make it appear that is was keyboard input to such mobile applications as Internet Explorer, Terminal Services, Word, Excel, etc. Datawedge comes in different versions for different mobile computer operating systems, so be careful to use the right one.
